Backgound:

The Nawatandham complex is being established and developed as a main shrine of Shree Krishna Pranami sect. It is situated in the lap of snow- clapped Himalayan mountain ranges on the panoramic elevated mound, at the bank of holy Bagmati river in Kathmandu,the capital city of Nepal,the only Hindu Kingdom in the world.

The propagation of Shree Krishna Pranami religious message in Nepal dates back to over 325 years. Shree Krishna Pranami Society is oriented to the cause of human welfare by humbly following the message of love, compassion and service of Lord Shree Krishna. In this context, the proposed Nawatandham shall be established not only as a religious retreat for devotees but also as resource center and focal point for all kinds of service oriented activities.

More than 125 temples and shrines and several number of organizations and associations of Shree Krishna Pranami Society are dedicated to social service activities in the Kingdom of Nepal. The Shree Krishna Pranami Seva Samiti Nepal and various bodies under it have been actively involved in guiding and co-operating with all the aforementioned establishments. Shree Krishna Pranami Seva Samiti Nepal, registered as a social organization in 2023 B.S.(1966 A. D.) is the umbrella organization of the Pranami Society of the Kingdom of Nepal. The Shree Krishna Pranami Seva Samiti has intended to develop this Nawatandham as a national center that provides active and effective patronage to the socio religious and educational activities of the Shree Krishna Pranami society. Development Site:

The development site is located on the bank of Bagmati River at Gothatar Village Development Committee Ward No. 2, about 2 kilometers northeast of Pashupati and Guhyeshori area and southeast of Bauddha, religious place of the Budhists. The construction works has been started and is in progress. The site is accessible via Chabahil- Jorpati, Pashupati Guhyeshori and Pepsi ColaGothatar Roads. Completion of the wide roads on either banks of the Bagmati River and the bridge, which are currently under construction, will further improve the accessibility of the site. Top

Development Plan:

The constrUEtion site of the Nawatandham shrine complex at present covers the land area of about 35 Ropanis (192,000 sq.ft.).The land includes 8 Ropanis provided by His Majesty's Government on the recommendation of Gothatar VDC. All other land and the ongoing construction works are contributed by the Sundarsath (Pranami devotees) and other devotees. Considering the long-term need of the shrine, effort is on for acquiring additional land around it. The development plan includes structures for various purposes including religious, educational and social service activities such as :

(a) Main Temple (b) Discourse Hall (c) Guest House (d) Elderly Home (e) Orphanage (f) Kitchen / Dining (g) Cowshed
(h) Health Center (i) Administrative Block -
Library and Study Room

(a) Main Temple : The Main Temple will be constructed on the center of the flat land of the elevated surface. Other structures will be constructed on the slope land at lower level without obstructing the panoramic view of the Main Temple. All structures will be built with due aesthetic considerations. The main entrance gate with inscriptions of important messages of the Shree Krishna Pranami Religion will be located at the northeast corner. A pathway, motorable in case of need, shall be constructed from the entrance gate to the top level surface near Discourse Hall. Further up from there will be few rising steps to reach the Main Temple The length of this road will be about 75 meters. Both the sides of the road all along shall have divisions with illustrative paintings/figures showing fourteen Lokas from the lowest 'Patal' to the highest'Paramdham'

(b) Discourse Hall: For the purpose of conducting religious discourses, religious congregations, meetings,seminars,and othersocial functions such as weddings,Upanayan (sacred thread ceremony) etc., a well-designed hall with accommodation capacity for approximately 1000 people will be constructed.Apart from this, meditation rooms for small groups and other rooms suitable for other social activities are also included in the plan.

(c) Guesthouse: A guesthouse for providing suitable accommodation for visiting saints, holy persons, scholars and devotees will be constructed within the complex. Adequate arrangement for water, t ooms and attached kitchens will be made in the guesthouse.The gue provide regular lodging facility for about 200 persons and will also have facility for arranging temporary lodging for higher number of people, as necessary, for special occasions. These accommodation facilities will provide rooms for individuals, groups and families.

(d) Elderly Home: The works on building independent rooms for both male and female elderly people is in progress. These facilities are provided to the neglected, infirm and helpless aged persons as well as the senior citizens desirous to lead a peaceful and spiritual life may also reside here.The elderly home will also serve as a multipurpose center offering various activities for the senior citizens. This home will have a capacity to serve loo male and female occupants.

(e) Orphanage: An orphanage having capacity of about 100 helpless children shall be constructed and operated within the shrine complex. The orphanage will be provided with the required facilities.The construction of the orphanage is in progress.

(f) Kitchen and Dining Hall: A kitchen and a dining hall for cooking and feeding the children, elderly people, saints, regular attendants and other non-regular visitors will be constructed within the shrine complex. The kitchen and dining hall will be equipped with adequate kitchenwares and utensils and will also have necessary facility to serve even large number of people on special occasions, events and festivals.

(g) Cowshed: A cowshed in modern design with all facilities will be constructed and maintained within the shrine complex.The cowshed will have separate hygienic compartments for grown up cows and calves as well as residential facilities for caretakers. This cowshed will support the shrine with regular supply of milk and milk products and help maintaining holy environment in the complex.

(h) Health Center: A health center equipped with modern facilities will be established with an objective to provide service to the local people, visitors and residents of the shrine complex; particularly to the aged, the poor and the helpless persons. Facilities for check-up, emergency first-aid and waiting rooms will be made available in this Health Center.

(i) Administrative Building with Library and Study Rooms: A building with separate rooms for administrative offices of the Nawatandham shrine as well as Shree Krishna Pramani Sewa Samiti, library and collection of religious and other relevant books, study, printing and publication of books, journals and magazines will be constructed in the compound of the shrine. Provision of the study room is expected to significantly contribute in promoting religious studies, publication of articles, discourses etc. Top

Resource Mobilization:

The Nawatandham development project is planned to be funded through contribution from devotee, spiritual personalities and institutional support at national and international levels. As the Nawatandham Development Project is a long-term and comprehensive master plan requiring a large amount of investment, a generous support from every one is essential for its timely and successful completion. Name of the donors with the amount of their contribution will be inscribed in alphabetical order and put at a conspicuous place as an honor to their heartfelt support. Commitment from many individuals and organizations to make financial contributions for this development started on the auspicious occasion of the Shree Krishna Pranami Dharma Mahotsav held at the construction site in 2055 B.S.(1998 A.D.). Donation of approximately Rs.3,000,000 in cash has been received up to now and many devotees have voluntarily committed to provide further financial support.

The donors can voluntarily bear the entire cost of a particular portion of the construction (e.g. a block, room, or its portion) or donate an amount in cash or in kind or in labor.The interested person may provide their contribution by contacting the address mentioned below. Top

Project Management:

The development and construction of Nawatandham complex is being undertaken under the directives and patronage of Acharya Shree 108 Krishnamaniji Maharaj. Likewise, Santashiromani Shree Jagat Rajji Maharaj, Shree Mohan Priyacharyaji Maharaj, and Shree Sadanandaji Maharaj have been actively supporting and providing patronage to the project. With the b ' lessings of the above mentioned Maharajjis, a 21 member Advisory Committee has been constituted with the involvement of high ranking saints, intellectuals and representative from different organizations of Krishna Pranami society, technical experts and active devotees of Pranami Society. Separate Committees have been constituted to mobilize financial resources and to manage the construction activities. Both the committees have qualified, experienced and capable persons to handle their respective area of responsibilities.
Arrangement has been made to ensure proper management of the expenditure of the construction works and maintain up to date records in a transparent manner. The account will be audited and the details of income and expenditure will be made public annually.
